The policy forum brings together politicians, state government officials, teachers, administrators, business representatives, university researchers, and other stakeholders to examine the state of literacy teaching and learning in Illinois schools under the No Child Left Behind initiative. Participants share ideas on how the state's universities can work with legislative representatives and agencies to better support literacy teaching and learning in Illinois.

The Center hosted the Policy Forum on Literacy Teaching and Learning on September 8, 2006 at the Bone Student Center, a one-day workshop with policymakers, Office of the Governor, Illinois State Board of Education, and representatives from public and private Illinois universities.
