Linda WedwickLinda is assistant professor in the Center for Reading and Literacy at Illinois State University and a former middle school teacher of Language Arts. Her current projects involve research into students' self-selection of texts for independent reading, adolescent literature, and content area reading. Her publications have appeared in The Reading Teacher, Voices from the Middle, and Illinois Reading Council Journal.
Ruby is assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Illinois State University. Her current research interests are focused on teacher education, in particular elementary literacy teacher curriculum and pedagogy as it intersects with technology. Her publications have appeared in the Reading Teacher, Illinois Reading Council Journal, and the International Handbook of Literacy and Technology. She has presented research at the National Reading Conference, American Educational Research Association and the International Reading Association.
Faculty members, Dr. Lara Handsfield and Dr. Tom Crumpler, have secured a Spencer Foundation grant for research.
