Become a Tutor in the ISU Literacy Development Center Tutoring Program

Begun in 2007, the tutoring program provides high quality practicum experiences for students who are pursuing graduate and undergraduate studies in Reading and Literacy.

Qualifications

Elementary Education majors who are currently taking or have completed C&I 208 and C&I 209 or graduate students are eligible to become tutors. Applicants must pass a background check.

Training

Tutors will receive literacy faculty pre-employment training and ongoing support during their work with the students.

Time commitment

Tutors will work with __ students per semester. You must make a commitment to work with the student for the entire semester.

Apply to become a tutor

Complete this application at least one full semester prior to the time you wish to tutor. Once your application is received, the Literacy Development Center will contact you with more information. Please submit a new form for each practicum request.

Submit your tutoring hours

Submit the hours that you have tutored a student.
